ResQFlare PRO
Nominated for a DAME Design Award in the Safety and Security category, the ResQFlare PRO distress light represents a step forward in distress signal technology. ACR said the light exceeds U.S. Coast Guard requirements and combines electronic and optical technologies to give the ResQFlare improved functionality compared to pyrotechnic flares. The buoyant electronic visual distress signaling device delivers a more powerful SOS distress alert system to ensure improved visibility on the water, even after dark.
The light is classified as a certified night visual distress signal and is designed to be visible with night-vision goggles. It flashes red-orange and cyan LEDs so signal the international Morse code for S-O-S while simultaneously emitting the same pattern through its infrared component. It also features a luminous angle of 180 degrees, permitting a greater light distribution range.
“We are very excited to be introducing the ResQFlare PRO to the market,” Mikele D’Arcangelo, vice president of global marketing and product management for ACR, said in a statement. “As with all our innovations, this electronic flare is a testament to our team remaining consistently dedicated to pushing the boundaries of safety technology innovations. The ResQFlare PRO will significantly enhance the safety of seafarers and provide invaluable peace of mind on the water.”
The new signaling device comes with a distress flag and its operational life exceeds the RTCM 13200.0 requirements by 50% and an extended burn time that surpasses traditional pyrotechnic flares.
